As of this morning, there are at least 10,759 positive COVID-19 Cases in state prisons. There are five individual prisons with more than 500 cases each. Individual Prisons are listed first, and then the chart of all cases and source citations.
Prisons are quickly becoming hotspots of Coronavirus and incubators of the disease among inmates and staff, with the potential to cause a great deal of harm. I’ll do my best to keep these numbers updated regularly. As of today there are at least 3,739 state prison inmates nationwide who have tested positive for COVID-19. Three states (Nebraska, New Mexico, West Virginia) do have not made publicly available any solid data about prisoner cases.
